Meet our teacherS
日本大学商学部、University of Victoria でB.A.Dを卒業。
My name is Charmae. I was born and raised in the ‘Land of Promise, Davao City in the Philippines. From the moment I earned my diploma and teaching license, my wonderful 16-year journey as a teacher began, and it has truly been amazing. My passion for teaching continues due to my philosophy of making children happy while teaching them and watching them learn. What I most love about Japan is this amazing culture of harmony and well-being, and I continue to learn more and more about this fascinating country. My favorite places in Japan have been Nikko and Tochigi: these are deeply cultural places where I truly feel the essence of Japan and get a better understanding of what it means to be Japanese – to honor and respect and become one with nature.
English opens doors to the world. My goal at the Foundations International School is to assure you that every child who is a student in our school will grow and learn English in a structured, happy, and fun environment – the environment where children learn best.
I look forward to guiding your children on their journey into English.
Hi! My name is Rumi. I am an American – I earned my degree at the University of North Carolina, majoring in English and Communications. I arrived in Japan 10 years ago and I have been teaching children for the entire ten years. I have a passion for children and for teaching. I also enjoy cooking, music, nature, and I love animals.
I am pleased to meet you.
Hi! My name is Rie. I’m half Japanese and half Filipino. I was so fortunate to have grown up in a multilingual household which boosted my confidence in multiple languages, and, at the same time, enabled me to meet and become friends with people from all over the world. I attended private school back home, surrounded by multi-national classmates, including many western students. I majored in Early Childhood Education, with an emphasis on Special Education at University and earned my teaching license.
Let’s have fun learning English!
Hello! My name is Shiela. I’m from the Philippines. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English. I have been in Japan since 2017 – two years ago – living and working as an English teacher. I have been in the field of Education for 8 years now, teaching various levels of students. Japan has sparked an interest in photography and creating travel videos: Japan’s natural beauty throughout the entire year – all four seasons – is magnificent.
I am very pleased to meet you.
